I lived in Spain for the summer of 2013, and on a weekend trip to Portugal I learned about these blue-glazed ceramic tiles called azulejos. They covered every corner of O'Porto, adorning monasteries and bars alike. The entire city felt like a museum with each tile immortalizing a different fragment of the city's history and culture. I drew a comparison from the tiles in O'Porto to a classic breakfast spot in Memphis called Blue Plate Cafe where I hold handfuls of memories with all my people. I zoomed in on one or two of those memories for this song.
